Welcome to a page of Vocals and Thumbpicking guitar music!
It pleases me to know that technology has advanced to a point
where I can present a collection of songs that I have recorded over the years.
All of the individual instruments used in the creation of these selections
were played by me, via multi-trackrecording technology, or recorded, live, at selected performances in Club atmospheres.
A keyboard, guitar, fiddle, base and in some songs,a harmonica is what you will be hearing.
Thanks for coming by!
After 68 years of guitar picking (started at 9 years old), I finally have a
Public Internet Address.
My professional career started in the early days of live radio broadcasting
when I was with "The Wabash Valley Ramblers", a square dance band in Western Indiana.
Music was also a big part of my life in Oklahoma for four years, (1952-56).
Having moved there in 1952, I stayed 4 years and worked for the OklaHoma Highway Dept. as an Inspector and Project Engineer
I moved to Colorado in mid 1956 and spent the remainder of my working career in Colorado.
I worked in the music field with HOWARD SELF,a truley great entertainer!
He headed up our trio, which included CHUCK NICHOLS, the best doghouse baseman that ever thumped a string. He was a local DJ on Radio and Televison, in western Colorado
We provided live telecast music to the western slope of the Colorado Rockies.
We did shows from many places and one from a-top the COLORADO NATIONAL MONUMENT
I recall that night which found me slapping at NO-SEEUM gnats and almost creating a new
form of up-beat music while trying to evade the pesky li'l bugs.. {Just try playing a
hoe-down fiddle while slappin' at bugs..that memory caused me to laugh even as I write this}.
We were working in the days of live telecast ( where what we played is what the TV Land Audience saw and heard. There was no time for re-takes)
I never did get to watch a recording of us, as the studio would wipe them clean soon after every
performance, holding them for only about a month, or so, for legal purposes.
After two years running(1965-67, we were replaced by the HEE HAW SHOW, seems that they
worked cheaper!( tounge in cheek chuckle here)! We were paid $25.00 , each for a one hour show...lol

The songs listed on this page are like old friends that I met along the trail while picking music in about all kinds of places that one would care to imagine, including inside of a BarRoom chickenwire cage and in the middle of a cornfield just after harvesting. From High in the Colorado Rockies to the Baltimore Hills in Western Indiana, south to Texas, across Ohio, and up and down the Mississippi Valley from the lakes of Minnessota, back down to "N'awlin's" I have picked for a bunch of nice people and enjoyed it over the years!
Many of you have asked for a short biography on this page., so ....... You have just now read it!
A click on the song titles should start the song.
Please feel free to link me to your own homepage!........meanwhile,...thanks, again, for stoppin' by!
